The Mazda RX-8: What a Sport Car Should Be

July 10th, 2006

Looking for a little Mazda RX8 information? You have come to the right place. The Mazda RX8 car has had quite a short history in retrospect, but has grown rather nicely over the years into what most would say a sports car should be. Beginning with the 2001 Mazda RX8 was when we were first introduced to this beauty; even today the 2001 would make a great used Mazda RX8. But it wasn’t for another two years until the production of the 2003 Mazda RX 8 would show that a true legend was upon our door. It was at this point that Mazda RX8 clubs began to pop up all over the US, and Mazda was in the eyes of performance car enthusiasts.

At the International Auto Show, the 2004 Mazda RX8 was unveiled as a hydrogen RE concept car designed to run on either gasoline or hydrogen; a concept that has yet found encouragement from any Mazda RX8 review. The 2005 Mazda RX8 introduced the US to a special Shinka edition with xm satellite radio for Mazda RX8, new badging, cool paint colors (Black Cherry Mica, Copper Red, and Phantom Blue), trimmed leather seats, and suspension tuning. Today in 2006, most people are looking to the 2007 Mazda RX8 with an expectation of even greater amounts. And I am happy to report to all you loyal fans that you are certain to not be disappointed. Just ask me, as I am the proud owner of a black Mazda RX8y and just could not be happier.

But before I get too far ahead of myself, let’s talk a little more about the RX-8 in general. Mazda RX8 power originates from its Renesis rotary engine which is capable of up to 250 horsepower in stock form. The Renesis is a beautiful designed engine that offers high revving reliability. As far as Mazda RX-8 problems go, you will not find anything out of the ordinary here. In fact, the only part you will find yourself replacing on a yearly basis is your Mazda RX-8 brake rotor, and that’s only because you won’t be able to slow this baby down easily once you get going in it.

At this point we could talk about any number of Mazda RX 8 discount parts, but since you will rarely need to replace anything on your Mazda unless it is something to make it go even faster; why bother. There is just no limit to the number of Mazda RX8 performance parts available to you. Upgrades ranging from ignition, intake, exhaust, and a turbo would all make great choices if your passions lead you to the need for more power. Due to the unique nature of the rotary engine it is highly recommended to find a knowledgeable shop to do your work for you, never attempt these upgrades yourself without the necessary knowledge, experience, and detailed instruction.

With all of these inspiring words I have unleashed upon you many people would begin to wonder if there really could be a machine out there that can actually offer all the above. Well, being a bit of a skeptic myself I offer you the RX8 challenge. This is where you rent a Mazda RX-8 for a day. If you don’t find that the car is everything you have dreamed you can bring it back with very little lost. If you like it however, you can buy your very own RX-8; just don’t forget to bring the rental back first. The rental companies are actually every bit attached to their RX-8’s as the owners themselves!
