3’s Company with the New Mazda 3

July 11th, 2006

The all new Mazda 3 is proving to the public that good things do actually come in 3’s. Well, I guess this isn’t the first time that Mazda has proven this to us as we take a look back into the history books of Mazda. The Mazda MX 3, with the lowest displacement V-6 almost in history (1.8 Liter) was capable of a 136 mph top speed and 0-60 straight away in 8.5 seconds. Perhaps Mazda has always known that three was not a crowd.

Some people will tell you to hold out for the 2007 Mazda 3; I say, why wait when you could have a good thing right now. The 2006 Mazda 3 is tightly bundled with several great packages to choose from; the Neo, Maxx, Sport, and luxury SP23. Which ever trim level you choose, the Mazda Speed 3 is ready to be swept off the showroom floor and parked in your driveway today. But don’t just take my word for it, read the raving Mazda 3 reviews on consumer reports. The 2006 Mazda 3 not only has been enhanced in its exterior styling, but also its performance.

Starting with the Mazda 3’s exterior we find that the front and rear bumpers have been stylized with a catchy European flare and prestige. Add on a low rise Mazda 3 spoiler to the package, and you truly start to see the beast hidden within this beauty. Mazda has also added a set of newly designed alloy wheels to complete the package. Mazda has also ensured its customer base a nice list of Mazda 3 accessories included into each package, so that you will not have to add them later. I am talking about cruise control, an auxiliary input audio system, center armrest console, and 12 V power outlet for your external MP3 player.

The most popular aftermarket accessories on the market for your Mazda 3 are in the lighting department. Everything from different colored headlights, to neon underbody lighting kits can be purchased and easily installed. Of course there are also a variety of sporty grills and hood scoops available to add even more sex appeal to your package, although most would agree that the Mazda 3 is pretty darn sexy in the first place.

Now, talk about Mazda 3 performance you can feel; the Neo, Maxx, and Sport all have the 2.0 sequential valve timing engine that has both greatly increased power as well as responsiveness. Now, not to down the design of a beautiful engine, there are quite a number of Mazda 3 performance parts available to give your Mazda the edge on the competition. First on your Christmas list in this arena should be a Mazda 3 Turbo, which is currently in the production stages, so we will have to wait for the numbers to come in. But I would think that it would be suffice to say, that out of all the available Mazda 3 parts the Turbo will double your current horsepower digits, but don’t quote me on that.

It is quite obvious from the new features, that somebody from Mazda has been reading the Mazda 3 forums on the internet and has taken the kind advice from its loyal customers to make 2006 an even more enjoyable one for the next proud group of Mazda 3 owners.
